It had been 8 years since the last Ohio Valley Conference championship for the Coal Grove Hornets, but that changed this season as they completed an unbeaten league record in claiming their first football title since 2017. Coal Grove beat the Rock Hill Redmen 26-7 on Friday to finish the regular season 8-2 including 6-0 in the OVC.
