Fast start by Redmen, Davidson keys win over Hornets

COAL GROVE — The Rock Hill Redmen started fast and never slowed down as they beat the Coal Grove Hornets 63-39 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Monday.
The Redmen took an 11-point lead early and stretched it to 19 points by halftime as they were never challenged the rest of the game.
Kelan Davidson hit a 3-pointer and scored 7 points and Barker knocked down a pair of triples in the first quarter as Rock Hill jumped in front 19-8.
Carson Medinger had 6 points and Rylan Black hit a trey as five different players scored in the second quarter to extend the lead to 36-19 at the half.
Ayden Hankins scored 4 points as five different Hornets scored.
The Redmen kept adding to their lead in the third quarter as Medinger and Black drilled 3-pointers and Cash Lyons had 4 points as the lead grew to 52-28.
Peyton Bryant — hit a 3–pointer — and Rylan Smith scored 4 points each in the quarter for the Hornets.
Each team scored 11 points in the fourth quarter.
Davidson and Lyons combined for 9 of Rock Hill’s points while Braxton Patrick and Braden Schug each hit 3-pointers for the Hornets.
Davidson scored 16 points to lead Rock Hill (3-3, 1-2) while Barker had 12 points and Medinger scored 11.
Smith had 8 points for the Hornets (3-3, 0-2).
