Flyers shoot their way past Western, 7-1

LATHAM — They may or may not have their vaccines, but the St. Joseph Flyers got plenty of shots last Thursday.
The Flyers took 32 shots with 30 on goal in a 7-1 Southern Ohio Conference win over the Western Indians.
Connecting 3 times for a hat trick was Zach Johnson while Evan Balestra had 2 goals. Brady “Quinn” Medinger and Carson Willis also scored a goal.
Dishing out the assists were Wesley Neal with 2 while Landon Rowe, Blake Medinger, Carson Lyons and Brady Medinger all had one each.
Flyers’ goalkeeper Eli Ford had 5 saves as Western took 7 shots with 6 on goal.
Aydan Riggs scored an unassisted goal for Western while goalkeeper Logan Morris had 23 saves.
St. Joseph had 6 corner kicks, 3 fouls and 2 off-sides penalties. Western (1-3, 0-1) had one foul and one off-sides penalty.
The Flyers (3-0-1) will host New Boston in an SOC game this Thursday.
