Russell, Godby headline Lady Dragons win over Lady Panthers

CHESAPEAKE — The Fairland Lady Dragons took half the day off, so to speak.

The Lady Dragons built up a big lead in the first half and then turned the game over to the backups in the second half in a 63-17 Ohio Ohio Valley Conference win over the Chesapeake Lady Panthers on Monday.

Bailey Russell drilled three 3-pointers and scored 11 points while Addison Godby had 6 points and Addison Cornell 5 and Fairland opened up a 22-5 first quarter lead.

Sara Dillon scored all 5 points for Chesapeake (11-7, 5-6).

Rylee Russell had a 3-pointer as she scored 9 points and Bailey Russell got 6 more as the Lady Dragons extended the lead to 46-10 at the half.

Fairland outscored Chesapeake 11-4 in the third quarter as Godby got 6 points and the lead was 57-14.

Chloe Parrott scored all 4 of the Lady Panthers total.

Bailey Russell led Fairland (16-3, 11-0) with 20 points. Godby had 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists while Cornell had 10 rebounds and 3 assists.
