Lady Dragons score school record points, advance to district semis

The Fairland Lady Dragons were putting up all kinds of numbers as they routed the Northwest Lady Mohawks 111-20 in the Division 5 district quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Besides eclipsing the 100-point mark for the first time in program history, the Lady Dragons had all 13 players score and five reach double figures.
Bailey Russell — the program’s all-time leading scorer — led the team with 24 points including five 3-pointers.
Russell’s sister Rylee Russell had 16 points, Isa Taliaferro 12 points, Kiana Miller 11 points and Addison Godby had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Stella Whitley had 5 rebounds.
Miller, Godby and Taliaferro all had 5 assists.
After trailing 2-0 to start the game, Fairland put up 51 points in the first quarter and led 86-9 at the half.
Fairland faces Minford at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in the district semifinals at the Waverly Downtown Arena.
