PROCTORVILLE — The Fairland Lady Dragons are the most dangerous when they exit their lair.

Fairland scored 60 of their 82 points in the first and third quarters as they rolled past the Warren Lady Warriors 82-39 in the Tri-State Hoops Throwdown finale on Saturday.

Addison Godby scored 12 points in the first quarter while Bailey Russell hit a 3-pointer and scored 5 points and Fairland burst out of the starting gate by taking a 27-11 lead.

Warren made it 9-7 midway through the first when Jayda Murray scored off a pick-and-roll play with Delaney Gates.

But the Lady Dragons responded with 20-4 run over the final 4:24 of the first and just over a minute into the second quarter to take firm control of the game.

During the run, Russell drained a 3-pointer from the corner and Godby came up with a pair of steals in the press and converted them into layups.

When Cornell scored on a layup following an inbounds pass underneath, the Lady Dragons had ballooned their lead out to 29-13 with 6:48 remaining in the second.

Warren was able to end the run with a free throw by Josie Venham, but the damage had already been done.

Warren (7-4) outscored Fairland 11-10 in the second quarter but the Lady Dragons came out of the locker room at halftime and poured in 32 points to just 7 for Warren.

Addyson Cornell scored 8 points, Rylee Russell drilled a pair of 3-pointers as she scored 8 points, Isa Taliaferro hit a trey and had 5 points while Lola Donahue scored 5 points and Bailey Russell got 4 points including a 3-pointer in the offensive explosion.

Cornell and Bailey Russell each hit 3-pointers and scored 5 points apiece as Fairland outscored Warren 13-7 in the fourth quarter.

Godby finished the game with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead Fairland (9-2). Addyson Cornell had a big game with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals while Bailey Russell also scored 17 points.
