Davidson, Cox Help Redmen Rout Soldiers; Give Schug First-Career Win

PEDRO — It was win one for win one.


Kelan Davidson scored 16 points and Izaak Cox had 10 points as the Rock Hill Redmen beat the Grace Christian Soldiers 56-32 to give coach David Schug his first career coaching win.


Schug — was an all-district and All-Ohio basketball player for Rock Hill — is in his first season as the Redmen head coach.


Drew Schug — son of the head coach — and Kelan Davidson scored 4 points each as Rock Hill (1-1) took a 15-9 first quarter lead.


Brody Harris was 4-of-4 at the foul line for Grace Christian.


Davidson got 6 more points in the second quarter as the lead grew to 27-14 at the half.

Cox came back from early foul trouble to score 8 points in the third quarter while Davidson scored 4 points with Braylon McClellan and Yaden Bailey netting 3 each and the lead ballooned to 47-18.


Bryce Ray had all 4 of the Soldiers’ points in the quarter.


Rylan Barker had 3 of Rock Hill’s 9 points in the fourth quarter.


Harris hit a 3-pointer and scored 5, points, Ray also had 5 points and Jacob Moses hit a trey for Grace Christian.
