Burkhardt keys ground attack as Falcons blank Lions

BALTIMORE — Run baby run.

The Fairfield Union Falcons ran for 330 yards as they blanked the Liberty Union Lions 44-0 on Friday in a Mid-State Buckeye Division game on Friday.

Leading the running game was Lane Burkhardt with 195 yards on 16 carries and he scored two touchdowns. Colton Borah added 63 yards on just two carries and he added a score.

Fairfield Union (4-2, 2-1) finished with 394 total yards as quarterback Dean Clark was 5 of 7 passing for 64 yards including a touchdown pass to Kohen Arnett.

The defense was led by Borah with12 tackles and Codie Andrews had 7. Borah had 3 tackles for a loss and Andrews had 2 TFLs.

The Falcons had a pair of interceptions as Boston McKoyes and Clark each picked off passes.

Liberty Union dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the league.
