Lady Vikings pick up a pair of wins to extend streak to 4 games

AID — The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings just keep on rolling.

The Lady Vikings downed the Coal Grove Lady Hornets 11-1 in a run rule game on Tuesday, then rolled past the Northwest Lady Mohawks 13-0 in a run rule Southern Ohio Conference game on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Symmes Valley (9-2, 2-0) won as Brenna Tibbs pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and three walks.

Tibbs also went 3-4 at the plate with a double and she led off the game with a home run.

Kaycee Thompson was 2-4 with a double, a home run and four runs batted in. Marley Ferguson was 3- with Maci Bland 2-3 with two doubles and three RBI. Addy Hawk was 2-4 with a double and an RBI, Addi Ridenour 2-4 with a triple and two RBI, Natalie Simpson was 1-3 and Alyssa Waugh had an RBI.

In a non-league win over Coal Grove, Hawk worked all five innings to get the win as she gave up six hits, no earned runs and had nine strikeouts with no walks. She also went 1-2 at the plate.

Ferguson had a big bat as she went 2-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Bland was 2-3 with a double and two RBI, Thompson 1-2 with four RBI, Allie Clay and Lydia Saunders were both 1-1, and Natalie Simpson added an RBI.

Coal Grove (3-7) was led by Izzy Kitts who went 2-3. Braelie Hitchcock was 1-1, Shay Collins and Mia Hayes each 1-2, and Kendal Taylor was 1-3.
