Copley's key the Lady Pointers to blanking of Lady Panthers

CHESAPEAKE — Kota Copley was hard to hit. Adyson Copley has done nothing but hit.
Sophomore Kota Copley pitched a 2-hitter and junior Adyson Copley racked up her 100th career hit as the South Point Lady Pointers blanked the Chesapeake Lady Panthers 12-0 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Monday.
Adyson Copley went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple as she reached the milestone hit total. Kota Copley struck out 12 and did not walk a batter to get the win.
South Point (10-5, 4-2) had 14 hits including 8 extra base hits.
Kaylee Stidham was 2-4 with a double, a home run and 3 runs batted in. Raygen Yates was 2-2 with a triple, Natilyn Spears 2-2 with a double, Chloe West 1-2 with 2 RBI, Brinley Stamper 1-2, and Kota Copley 3-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI.
M Fry and K Collins each went 1-2 for Chesapeake (7-8, 1-5).
Already ahead 2-0, the second inning saw the Lady Pointers take full control of the game with a 4-run rally.
Adyson Copley drove in a pair of runs with a double into center to double their lead.
West connected on a 1-0 pitch for a base hit into center to score two more runners and build South Point's lead up to 6-0 and never look back.
Kota Copley slammed the door shut in the final two innings, as she struck out 6-straight Chesapeake batters to close out the game and get the win.
