Panthers, Issacs take control in 2nd half to beat Redwomen

PEDRO — Abbey Isaacs was back being Abbey Isaacs.
After missing the past two games, Isaacs scored 25 points including a big third quarter as the Chesapeake Lady Panthers pulled away from the Rock Hill Redwomen 48-29 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Thursday.
Isaacs and Ciera Nichols each hit a 3-pointer and scored 5 points as Chesapeake took a 14-9 first quarter lead.
Blayr Knipp scored 4 points and Samantha Bamer hit a 3-pointer for Rock Hill.
Four different players scored as Rock Hill outscored the Lady Panthers 8-4 and got within 18-17 at half.
Isaacs took over in the third quarter as she drained three shots from behind the arc as she scored 14 points and Chesapeake (12-7, 6-6) went ahead 34-27.
The Lady Panthers defense took over in the fourth quarter as they held Rock Hill to just 2 points.
Abby Mitchell hit a trey and scored 5 points, Isaacs had 4 points and Nichols hit a trifecta to boost the Chesapeake offense.
Knipp had 8 points while Bamer and Abby Schug got 6 each for Rock Hill (1-18, 6-6).
