Strong 2nd half helps Lady Bobcats roll past Manchester

FRANKLIN FURNACE - The Green Lady Bobcats came out in the second half and held the Manchester Lady Greyhounds to single digits, rolling to an easy 59-29 non-league win.
The Lady Bobcats won the first quarter 19-7, followed by third and fourth-quarter outputs of 10-5 and 18-4.
Manchester won the second stanza 13-12 to trail 31-20 at halftime.
Green (2-1) was paced offensively by Abbie Knapp with 25 points on nine field goals and a perfect 7-of-7 free throws. The six-foot and one-inch junior and Marshall University verbal commit also stuffed the stat sheet with a massive 22 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
Elizabeth McBee chipped in with 4 three-pointers, a deuce and 3-of-4 free throws towards 17 points. The sophomore also grabbed six rebounds and had five assists.
Fellow sophomore Laney Strickland scored 13 points on five field goals and swished a three-pointer, plus recorded 10 rebounds to earn a double-double.
Ava Abrams and Destiny Alexander added a field goal apiece to round out the Green scoring.
Hayden Rideout with nine points, Faith Scott with eight and Maddie Easter with seven paced the Lady Greyhounds (0-3), as all three players popped a three-point goal.
Green's non-league home game against Western was canceled on Thursday night at Western's request.
That game is unlikely to be rescheduled.
Green heads to Eastern for another non-league tilt on Wednesday.
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
