Lady Dragons get 9 different players to score, roll in season opener

PROCTORVILLE — The Fairland Lady Dragons are picking up where they left off last season.
With three players in double figures and nine in the scoring column, the state semifinalists of last season routed the South Point Lady Pointers 79-14 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Monday.
Addison Godby led the way with 17 points9 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. Bailey Russell had 17 points and 5 rebounds while Isa Taliaferro scored 13 points.
Godby had 9 points as five different players scored in the first quarter as Fairland took a commanding 24-0 lead.
The lead grew to an insurmountable 46-4 at the break as five more players scored including Bailey Russell with 8 points, Isa Taliaferro 5 and Godby 4 more.
Taegan Leep, Kiana Miller and Rylee Russell hit 3-pointers in the third quarter as the Lady Dragons extended their lead to 65-8.
Leep and Rylee Russell had 3 pointers and Bailey Russell scored 5 points as Fairland outscored South Point 14-6 in the final quarter.
Peyton Williamson scored 5 points and Molly Adams 4 to pace South Point (0-2, 0-1).
