Nunn, Petro lead Blue Angels past Lady Panthers

GALLIPOLIS —Abbey Isaacs had a great individual scoring effort, but the Gallia Academy Blue Angels had a better team effort.
Isaacs scored 32 points for Chesapeake but Gallia Academy had 8 different players score in a 57-43 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Lady Panthers on Friday.
Ryen Nunn nailed a 3-pointer and scored 9 points while Mallory Petro scored 6 as Gallia Academy took a 19-13 first quarter lead.
Isaacs hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 11 points in the first quarter.
The Blue Angels stretched the lead to 36-24 at the half as Petro scored 8 points and Chloe Bennett hit a 3-pointer.
Isaacs had 6 points and K.J. Collins hit a 3-pointer in the second quarter for Chesapeake.
The Lady Panthers (10-4, 4-4) managed just 5 points in the third quarter with Isaacs netting 4 of them.
Aftyn Graham and Bennett had 4 points each as Chesapeake outscored the Lady Panthers 10-5 in the quarter.
Isaacs scored another 11 points in the fourth quarter as Chesapeake outscored Gallia 14-11.
Four different players scored in the final quarter for Gallia.
Petro scored 17 points and Nunn 15 to lead the Blue Angels (9-6, 4-4).
Chesapeake plays at Fairland on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
