“Well, shake it up baby, now

Twist and Shout

C’mon, c’mon, c’mon, c’mon baby now

Come on and work it on out.”

IRONTON — The Ironton Fighting Tigers got a little shaky in the seventh inning, but pitcher Braydon Baker and the defense worked it on out as they posted a 4-2 Ohio Valley Conference win on Wednesday.

“We got a little shaky in the top of the seventh, but the kids stayed calm and finished it out,” said Ironton coach John Hunt.

“Braydon pitched a great game. He had to stay mentally tough through the rough last inning to nail down the game.”

Baker got the complete game win as he gave up just 5 hits, one earned run, with 5 strikeouts and one walk.

Ironton (11-1, 9-0) had just 4 hits but they used their hits well as they scored all their runs in the fourth inning.

“We had a lot of balls hit right at people today. It was one of those types of days,” said Hunt. “But our defense played great.”
