BEAVER — In the 1970s, there was a super duo called Electra Woman, who was 5-foot-7, and Dyna Girl, who was 5-foot-1.
Fast forward to 2025 and the tandem of Dyna Tibbs and Electra Ferguson, a.ka. Brenna Tibbs and Marley Ferguson.
Symmes Valley (9-1, 3-0) was led by Tibbs and Ferguson at the plate as they combined for 5 hits and 6 runs batted in as the Lady Vikings rallied from an early deficit to beat the Eastern Lady Eagles 7-4 in a Southern Ohio Conference 2 game on Wednesday.
“Eastern did a nice job but our girls battled through the cold weather and showed some character,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Jeff “Odie” Estep.
Tibbs was 3-4 with 2 RBI and 2 doubles while Ferguson was 2-4 with 4 RBI, a double and a home run.
Tibbs came on in the second inning to pitch and finished up to get the win. She gave up 2 hits, 2 runs with one earned, 11 strikeouts and 2 walks.
The Lady Vikings (9-1, 3-0) got a run in the first when Lindsey Freeman doubled, moved up on a passed ball and scored on Ferguson’s sacrifice fly.
Eastern got 2 runs in the second to go up 2-1 only to have the Lady Vikings rally in the third to take the lead for good.
Tibbs doubled, stole third, and Freeman was safe on an error for a run. Ferguson belted a two-run double and it was 4-2.
Eastern (4-3, 1-1) got a run in the fifth but the Lady Vikings answered with 2 in the sixth.
Natalie Simpson walked, Addi Ridenour bunted for a hit, and after a pair of infield pop outs, Tibbs doubled home the runners.
The Lady Vikings final run scored in the seventh when Ferguson slugged a home run leading off the inning.
