Lady Vikings Topple Redwomen For 3rd Straight Win

AID — The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings getting a fast start out of the batter’s box.
The Lady Vikings rolled past the Rock Hill Redwomen 11-1 in a run-rule win on Wednesday and improved to 3-1 on the young softball season.
Brenna Tibbs gave up just 2 hits, struck out 5 and walked 4 to get the win and also went 3-3 at the plate as Symmes Valley banged out 11 hits.
The Lady Vikings took a 2-0 in the first inning. Tibbs was hit by a pitch, Lindsey Freeman walked, Marley Ferguson hit into a fielder’s choice and Emma Ridenour had a 2-run single.
The lead went to 4-1 in the second when Addi Ridenour was safe on a two-base error and Alyssa Waugh doubled in a run, Addy Hawk walked and Tibbs had an RBI single.
Symmes Valley opened up a 9-1. Lead in the third inning.
Autum Justice singled, Hawk hit into a fielder’s choice, Kaycee Thompson and Tibbs each singled for a run, Freeman doubled in 2 runs, Ferguson had an RBI single, Emma Ridenour singled and Jaden McComas hit a sacrifice fly.
The final 2 runs scored in the fifth when Hawk and Thompson singled, Tibbs doubled home a run and Freeman hit a sacrifice fly to score Thompson and end the game.
The Lady Vikings host Westfall at 5:30 on Friday.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, the Lady Vikings tied the game in the fourth inning.
Lindsey Freeman walked, went to second on a wild pitch, scored when Emma Ridenour reached on an error and then Freeman scored as Jaden McComas got an RBI single.
But Hillsboro got a run in the fifth and 4 more in the bottom of the sixth.
