Chesapeake takes girls OVC golf; Walters, Murdock win medalist honors

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. — Chesapeake had four golfers place among the leaders, thus the Lady Panthers came away with the Ohio Valley Conference Golf Tournament title.
The Lady Panthers posted a 414 team score at Esquire Golf Course with the Rock Hill Redmen next at 434 and the Fairland Lady Dragons shot a collective 452.
Emma White shot a 95, Cadence Soper 103 and Chloe Thompson 105 to earn All-OVC first team honors and Temperance Reaves had a 111 and was honorable mention.
Ironton did not have enough golfers for a team score but Mairin Walters and Sarah Murdock both shot an 86 to not only earn first team All-OVC but share medalist honors.
Rock Hill’s Laelle Gillmore and South Point’s Samiya Bradburn each shot a 90 to tie for third place individually.
Rock Hill’s Samantha Bamer had a 99 and was All-OVC first team was was Coal Grove Lady Hornets Presley Shope who had a 105 score and Madeline Schneider of Fairland carded a 98 to make the first team.
