Bobcats polish off SOC play with win over New Boston

FRANKLIN FURNACE — The Green Bobcats wrapped up Southern Ohio Conference play with a 15-0 win over the New Boston Tigers on Monday night


The Bobcats got a superb effort from pitchers Kase McIntyre and Mason Neal, as the duo combined for a no-hitter and allowed three walks. McIntyre picked up the win throwing seven strikeouts in three innings of work. Neal fanned four batters in two innings.


The win moved the Bobcats record to 14-4 overall and finished first in the SOC with a 9-1 record.

The offense used a 12-run rally in the second inning to take a 14-0 lead.


Jon Knapp led the offensive output with a double and five runs batted in. Blake Smith went 2-for-3, including a triple, and three RBIs.


Landon Kimbler had a base hit and two RBIs. Quincy Merrill went 2-2 and an RBI. Troy Stapleton had a hit and 3 RBIs. Carson Johnson doubled and had an RBI. Gabe Blevins doubled. Riddick Jenkins and Neal each recorded a hit for the Bobcats.


The Bobcats are back in action on Tuesday when they welcome the Portsmouth Trojans.
