WILLOW WOOD — The offense kept rolling and the points continued to pile up for the Symmes Valley Vikings as they rolled up nearly 600 yards of offense to blast their way past the Berne Union Rockets for a 56-7 win on Friday night.

The Vikings continued their offensive onslaught as quarterback Bronx Carpenter threw for 5 more touchdown passes and amassed 418 yards through the air and back up Jordan Nance threw for 100 himself to give the Vikings a whopping 518 yards passing.

Carpenter's top target on the night was Jackson Fields who pulled in 7 receptions for 241 yards and 3 scores. Braylon Mount, Andrew Issacs and Connor Moore all tallied touchdown catch and combined for 151 receiving yards.

For the third-straight week, the Vikings scored on their opening drive and never surrendered the lead.

The score came on their first play from scrimmage when Carpenter hit Issacs streaking down the middle of the field for a 70-yard score. Miguel Ferriera added the extra point to make it 7-0.

Symmes Valley (3-0) would add to their lead later in the quarter when Carpenter hit Fields on a back shoulder throw along the far sideline to double up the score. Then Carpenter hit Moore on a short curl and Moore slipped through a tackle to go 22 yards to pay dirt. Issacs ran in for two points to make the score 22-0.

The scoring spree continued into the second when Carpenter and Fields bookended the quarter with long scores of 60 and 76. Then Asher Maynard got into the act with a 7 yard scoring run as the Vikings went into the break with a 43-0 lead.

Two more scores would be added by the Vikings during a second half running clock. First, Aydan Freeman would roll 11 yards on the ground in the third quarter. Then Jordan Nance would throw a 57-yard strike to Braylon Mount in the closing seconds of the game to round out the scoring.

The offense wasn't the only group to make bigs plays all night. The Viking defense had four takeaways on the night.

Enoch Patterson, Aydan Freeman and Issacs all came up with interceptions to end Rocket drives, and Beckham Roth recovered a fumble in the first quarter that led to Moore's touchdown catch.

Berne Union's lone score came in the third quarter when Jackson Little took a jet sweep down the Rocket sideline for 75 yards to bust up the Vikings' shutout bid. Little's run wound up being the longest play from scrimmage in the game.

The Vikings will be on the road next Friday with a showdown against undefeated South Point.
