Falcons, Clark roll past Braves for 3rd-straight win

CIRCLEVILLE — Dean Clark took matters into his own hands.

The Fairfield Union senior quarterback ran 10 times for 150 yards and a touchdown and was 5 of 8 passing for another 80 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Fairfield Union Falcons blanked the Logan Elm Braves 42-0 on Friday.

Clark’s 230 yards of total offense was a large part of the Falcons 332 total yards as they improved to 3-1 on the season.

Lane Burkhardt had a strong game for the Falcons as he was the workhorse of the ground game with 22 carries for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also caught a 20-yard touchdown pass.

Keaton Webb had 2 receptions for 34 yards and a score as four different players caught passes. Boston McKoyes — who ran 3 times for yards — caught one pass for 20 yards while Kohen Arnett had one reception for 6 yards.

The Fairfield Union defense shut down the Braves’ offense to 50 total yards. The Falcons held Logan Elm to 40 yards rushing on 26 attempts and a mere 10 yards passing on 5 of 8 completions.

Codie Andrews led the Falcons defense with 8 tackles, Trace Taylor had 7 stops and Colton Borah had 6 tackles including 4 for a loss and returned an interception for a touchdown.

The Falcons did not punt.

Fairfield Union will host Bloom-Carroll this Friday.
