Fairland girls, boys blank Rock Hill for sweep

PEDRO — The Fairland Dragons and Lady Dragons brought their whitewash with them.

The Dragons and Lady Dragons each posted Ohio Valley Conference soccer wins on Wednesday and each team won by a shutout.

The Lady Dragons blanked the Rock Hill Redwomen 1-0 while the Dragons posted a 4-0 shutout over the Redmen.

Rease Rice celebrated her birthday by scoring the game’s only goal at the 53:52 mark of the second half with an assist from Maddie Conwell.

Goalkeeper McKaila Thomas had 8 saves for the Lady Dragons (4-2-1, 3-0-1) as the tallied their 3rd shutout victory of the season.

In the boys’ game, the Dragons Kyle Salyer scored twice while Robinson Nolasco and Brady Akins each recorded a goal.

Goalkeeper Mason Ballard was credited with the shutout for Fairland (3-2, 2-2).
