Blue Angels blank Lady Dragons behind Bennett's 1-hit performance

PROCTORVILLE — Chloe Bennett pitched a one-hitter as the Gallia Academy Blue Angels shut out the Fairland Lady Dragons 15-0 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Monday.

Bennett struck out 7 and walked just one over her 5 innings.

The Blue Angels (10-11, 5-6) had 15 hits with Bennett going 4-4 with an RBI, Maggie Davis was 2-3 with 2 RBI, Reggan Eubanks 2-4 with a double and 3 RBI and Kaylie Crisenbery 2-4 with an RBI to lead the offense.

Maddie Schneider had the lone hit for Fairland (2-17, 0-12).

Already ahead 4-0, the Blue Angels blew the game wide open in the fourth to take control.

Mitchell singled into left to score a pair of runs. Eubanks followed up with a ground out for an RBI and Crisenbery lined a base hit back up the middle to score Mitchell to make the score 8-0.

The Blue Angels added seven more runs in the fifth to reach the run rule threshold.
