Lady Pointers earn pair of wins over Blue Angels

GALLIPOLIS — What started as a softball game turned into a marathon as the South Point Lady Pointers outlasted the Gallia Academy Blue Angels 7-5 in a 13 innings.

Kota Copley pitched the complete game as she struck out a whopping 23 batters and threw 179 pitches, 127 for strikes. She gave up 9 hits, 5 runs, 4 earned runs, and walked only 4.

South Point (15-6, 8-2) had 9 hits with Kaylee Stidham going 3-6 with an RBI, Kyleigh Castle 2-4 with an RBI, Adyson Copley 1-3 and Chloe West had a double and 2 RBI.

The Blue Angels (9-11, 4-6) was led by Ava Angel who was 2-2 with a home runs and 2 RBI, Chloe Bennett 2-4 and Maggie Davis 2-6 with a double.

SOUTH POINT — Kota Copley did the pitching and Kaylee Stidham did a big part of the hitting.

Their combined efforts helped the South Point Lady Pointers beat the Gallia Academy Blue Angels 7-3 on Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Copley pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and 3 walks with no earned runs. Stidham had a big day at the plate as she went 3-3 with a home run and 5 runs batted in.

Adyson Copley and Kota Copley were each 2-4, Chloe West 1-2, and both Natilyn Spears and Raygen Yates were 1-3.

The Blue Angels only hits came from Ava Angel who was 1-2 with a double and Chloe Bennett who was 1-3 with an RBI,
