BEAVER — Tanner Corn had nothing to give the Eastern Eagles and that’s exactly what they got from him. Nothing.
Corn did not give the Eagles a hit as he turned in a dominating performance by throwing a no-hitter in the Symmes Valley Vikings 7-0 win over the Eagles in a Southern Ohio Conference-2 game on Friday.
Corn struck out 12 and did not issue a walk to earn his masterpiece. The only blemishes on the day were three Viking errors.
Symmes Valley is now 9-8 on the season and 7-1 in the SOC-2. Northwest leads the league by a mere half-game with an 8-1 SOC-2 record.
The Vikings had 10 hits with Corn celebrating his big day on the mound with a big day at the plate as he went 4-4 with a double, a triple and 3 runs batted in.
Others getting hits were Andy Strow 2-4, Tanner Thompson 2-5, and Carson Brammer 2-2 with 2 RBI.
Eastern fell to 5-12 and 4-5 in the league.
