Angel, Harris lead Lady Angels past Lady Dragons

GALLIPOLIS — The Gallia Academy Blue Angels combined 10 hits with six Fairland errors to beat the Lady Dragons 17-1 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday.

Gallia Academy (7-7, 3-2) was led by Ava Angel who went 2-3 with a home run and two runs batted in. Taylor Wilcoxen was 2-2 with a double and an RBI, Chloe Bennett 2-2, Sophie Harris 1-3 and three RBI, Kinsey Mitchell 1-2 with two RBI, Leigha Kingery 1-2 and an RBI, and Kendall Eddy 1-4 with an RBI.

Bennett got the win as she struck out four, walked two and gave up the one earned run.

Fairland (1-10, 0-6) managed four hits with Maddie Cornwell going 1-2 with a double while Aubrey Hayes, Aubree Cyrus and Taegan Leep all went 1-2. Yardley Gorby drove in the lone Fairland run.
