Lady Pointers blank Lady Dragons behind Copley's 1-hitter

PROCTORVILLE — One led to won.

Kota Copley pitched a one-hitter and the South Point Lady Pointers won their Ohio Valley Conference game Wednesday as they blanked the Fairland Lady Dragons 6-0.

Copley struck out 10 and did not walk a batter as she got the complete game win.

South Point (9-4, 3-1) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Adyson Copley and Kaylee Stidham hit back-to-back one-out doubles.

The scored remained 1-0 until the fifth inning when the Lady Pointers scored three more runs to lead 4-0

Briny Stamper walked leading off, Adyson Copley reached on and Stidham belted a three-run home run.

A run scored in the sixth when Chloe West and Stamper singled and Kota Copley had an RBI double.

The final run scored in the seventh when Spears reached on an error and came around on a pair of ground outs.

Stidham was 2-3 with a double, a home run and 4 runs batted in. Spears and West each went 2-4, Stamper 1-1, Adyson Copley 1-3 and Kota Copley 1-3 with a double and an RBI.

Ava Thacker had the only hit for Fairland (1-9, 0-5) as she singled with two outs in the fifth inning.
