Big 1st inning allows Lady Vikings to roll past Lady Rebels

AID — The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings came out swinging.

The Lady Vikings had a big first inning and kept on scoring as they beat the South Gallia Lady Rebels 17-0 in a run rule Southern Ohio Conference 2 win on Wednesday.

Symmes Valley (15-2, 6-0) wasted little time in determining the outcome with 9 runs in the bottom of the first inning. Kaycee Thompson and Marley Ferguson each had a 2-run double to highlight the uprising.

The lead went to 13-0 in the second inning.

Emily Jackson led off the inning with a home run and Maci Bland had an RBI single to spark the rally.

Symmes Valley capped the scoring with 4 runs in the fourth inning.

Ryleigh Skaggs had a 2-run single with Hawk and Olivia Ridenour each getting hits and Alyssa Waugh had an RBI.

Tibbs was 1-1 with an RBI Skaggs 1-2 with 2 RBI, Bland 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI, Ferguson 1-1 with a double and 2 RBI, Hawk 1-3 with an RBI, Ridenour 1-3 and both Waugh and Lydia Saunders getting an RBI.

South Gallia (2-11, 1-4) got its only hit in the third inning  on a one-out single by Brystal Halley.
