Lady Vikings continue win streak with a pair of wins over the weekend

CARROLLTON — The bigger they are, the more fun when they fall.
The Division 7 Symmes Valley Lady Vikings picked up a pair of wins on Saturday by beating the Division 4 Carrollton Lady Warriors 5-2 and the Division 3 New Philadelphia Lady Quakers 13-2.
Against Carrollton, the game was scoreless until the third inning when both teams got a run.
The Lady Vikings scored when Brenna Tibbs tripled and came home on a wild pitch.
Carrollton got its run when Paityn Crank reached on a two-base error, went to third on a hit by Addie Turkovich and scored on an error.
Each team got a run in the sixth inning and it was 2-2.
The Lady Vikings scored as Tibbs doubled and Maci Bland followed with a base hit.
The Lady Warriors got their run when Juliaunna Miller doubled, went to third on a hit by Emma Shafer and scored on an error.
The Lady Vikings then put together the winning rally in the top of the seventh as Tibbs had a three-run double after hits by Natalie Simpson and Addy Hawk and a walk to Addi Ridenour.
Tibbs went the final 1.2 innings to get the win. She struck out 3, walked 2 and gave up one hit. Bland worked the first 5.1 innings giving up 3 hits, 2 runs, one earned, and struck out 4 with no walks.
Tibbs was 3-4 at the plate with 2 doubles, a triple and 3 runs batted in. Ridenour was 2-2, Simpson was 1-2, Bland 1-3 with an RBI, Hawk 1-3, and Thompson 1-3 with a double.
The Lady Vikings pounded out 15 hits to rout the Lady Quakers in 5 innings.
Tibbs got the win as she gave up 3 hits, one earned run with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks.
Simpson was 2-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI, Tibbs and Bland both went 2-3, Marley Ferguson 1-3 with an RBI, Thompson 1-2 with a double and 2 RBI, Hawk 2-3 with 2 doubles and an RBI, Alyssa Waugh 1-2 and an RBI, with Lydia Fields, Emily Jackson, Ryleigh Skaggs and Allie Clay all 1-2, Clay also had an RBI.
After the Lady Quakers went up 1-0 in the top of the first, Symmes Valley answered with 4 in the bottom of the inning with Tibbs and Bland getting singles and Simpson and Hawk doubles to highlight the rally.
The lead was 6-2in the second when Tibbs and Bland singled, Thompson hit a sacrifice fly and Waugh had an RBI single.
The Lady Vikings erupted for 7 runs in the fourth inning to put the game away early.
Ferguson singled, Thompson doubled, Waugh walked and Simpson doubled to clear the bases. Hawk had an RBI double and Ridenour, Clay, Tibbs and Bland all singled.
Symmes Valley is now 13-2 on the season while Carrollton and New Philadelphia are both 3-7.
