Bobcats blank Vikings to stay undefeated

AID — Gabe Blevins was quite a hit with his pitching performance on Thursday, mainly because he didn’t give up many hits.

Blevins shined on the mound as he pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and no walks as the Green Bobcats blanked the Symmes Valley Vikings 9-0 in a non-conference game.

Green (8-0) took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a single by Jon Knapp, a double by Brennan Renison and an error.

The Bobcats opened up a 5-0 lead with four runs in the fourth.

Nolan McMackin reached on an error, and Conner Blanton, Luke Kimbler, Mason Neal and Riddick Jenkins all singled and Blevins also singled and another run scored due to an error on the play.

Three more runs scored in the sixth and it was 8-0.

Knapp and Renison singled and Kase McIntyre hit a sacrifice fly. An out later, Blanton and Kimbler both singled.

The final run scored in the seventh when Knapp hit a one-out solo home run.

Green had 13 hits with Knapp going 3- with the home run, Renison 2-5 with a double, Blanton 2-4 with an RBI, Kimbler 2-2 with two RBI, Neal 1-3 with an RBI, Jenkins 1-5 with an RBI, Blevins 1-4, McMackin 1-5 and McIntyre had two RBI.

Andy Strow, Tanner Corn and Carson Brammer all went 1-3 for the Vikings (2-4).
