The 2025 high school football season will conclude this weekend for our day-to-day coverage area and safe to say it's been a successful one.

From the hot and sunny media days of late July to the blistering cold of December, Tri-State Sports Page has been along for the ride with each of our 10 area schools.

To put a final exclamation point on the season, here is our own all-area team aptly named Bella's All-Gridiron Team.

All selections are of our day-to-day coverage area teams and based on regular season performance. This includes Chesapeake, Coal Grove, Fairland, Green, Ironton, Rock Hill, Russell, South Point, Symmes Valley and Wheelersburg.

And as an added extra, Bella — our company mascot and our animal kingdom pick 'em contributor — gets to make one selection of her own and the players' graphic is marked with a paw print.

Wyatt Callicoat | Fairland | Offensive Line | Senior

Callicoat proved to be among the top linemen in the Ohio Valley Conference this season. The 3-year starter was just as good at nose guard as he was at center for the Dragons.

Bronx Carpenter | Symmes Valley | Quarterback | Sophomore (Bella's pick)

This season was a breakout year for Carpenter. The sophomore gunslinger threw for 2,555 yards and 30 touchdown tosses to help the Vikings roar back to a winning season and clinch a playoff berth for the first time in 3 years.

Brady Doss | Wheelersburg | Tight End | Senior

This was one of the easiest picks in terms of position. Doss was the clear-cut top player at tight end all season. Standing at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, Doss was a good mix of someone who could block in the Pirates' run oriented offense, but also had the ability to control the middle of the field when they threw.

Kayden Edwards | Ironton | All-Purpose | Junior

Edwards is the first of our two all-purpose selections. The junior accounted for 25 total touchdowns and threw for 1,167 yards and ran for 762 yards. His speed and quickness was his biggest strength and a major problem for defensive game plans.

Jackson Fields | Symmes Valley | Wide Receiver | Sophomore

Like his counterpart Carpenter, the sophomore receiver had a breakout year as well. On the season, Fields caught 49 balls for 966 yards and had 12 touchdowns. His 2025 season was highlighted by his career-high 267 yard night against Meigs.

Jayden Frasure | Russell | Quarterback | Senior

Frasure was converted over to quarterback after playing running back in 2024 and the transition paid off for the Red Devils. On the season, Frasure threw for 1,943 yards and 21 touchdown passes. As for rushing, he finished second on the team and found the end zone 6 times.

Cooper Heimbach | Wheelersburg | Punter/Kicker | Senior

This was the easiest of the picks for any position. Heimbach was arguably the Pirates' best weapon whether it be punting or placekicking. On the season, Heimbach has averaged over 40 yards a punt. As for kicking, the Ohio U-commit has converted 57-of-59 PATs and hit 18-of-21 field goals, including a career-long 53 yarder.

Caleb Jacobs | Ironton | Offensive Line | Senior

A very versatile player on the line. Jacobs was one of Ironton's top defensive linemen in 2024. This season, the 6 foot-five, 285 pound senior converted over to playing offense more and proved to be their best offensive linemen.

Daniel Medinger | Rock Hill | Offensive Line | Senior

Standing at 6-foot-5, 298, Medinger anchored the Redmen along both sides of the line this fall. The four-year starter earned OPSMA Division 6 Southeast Ohio All-District lineman of the year and has been courting interest from some FBS schools.

Ryan Meeker | Wheelersburg | Offensive Line | Senior

The 6-foot-3, 265 pound senior has been the anchor of the Pirates offensive line all season. The 3-year starter has the size and strength to push defenders around at the center position. But also be a brick wall when it comes to pass blocking. Meeker was named OPSMA Division 5 Southeast Ohio All-District linemen of the year.

Kaden Murphy | Coal Grove | Running Back | Senior

Murphy finished his historic career with 223 carries for 2,025 yards and 30 TDs in 2025. The senior was always known for his great speed in the open field, but what made him special was his lower body strength that allowed him to fight for extra yardage. Murphy's efforts also earned him the OPSMA Division 5 Southeast Ohio All-District offensive player of the year.

Cayden Pennington | Russell | Wide Receiver | Senior

Cayden was one of the area's fastest players at the wide receiver position. That was proven on several occasions this season when his quarterback was able to throw one out there and let Cayden go get it. For the season, Cayden led the team in receptions and receiving yards.

Jayden Pennington | Russell | Wide Receiver | Senior

Like his twin brother, Jayden was one of the top speedsters on the outside. Jayden finished second on the team in receptions and receiving yards. However, he did one-up his brother with more touchdown receptions on the season.

Braylon Rucker | Wheelersburg | All-Purpose | Senior

Here's our second all-purpose selection. Rucker's game elevated in week 6 against Ironton and has yet to find his ceiling. Rucker has surpassed 2,000 all-purpose yards on the season and his effectiveness at running the ball late in the season is a reason why the Pirates are playing in December.

Jacob Short | Coal Grove | Offensive Line | Senior

Every great rushing attack begins with a great offensive line and Short helped anchor the Hornets dominant rushing attack all season. The three-year starter was a key part of Kaden Murphy's success this season from the left tackle position.

Landon Vance | South Point | Running Back | Junior

Vance showed the qualities of an old school running back. He's a harder runner and has a great mixture of power and speed. The junior finished the 2025 campaign eclipsing 1,000 yards in rushing and surpassed 1,500 all-purpose yards.

HONORABLE MENTION LIST
