Lady Dragons roll past Ironton as 5 scorers reach double figures

IRONTON — It seemed like double or nothing for the Fairland Lady Dragons offense.

Five different players scored in double figures as the Lady Dragons rolled past the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers 90-8 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Monday.

Bailey Russell had 22 points to go with 6 rebounds and 7 assists while Isa Taliaferro notched 20 points along with 4 rebounds and 6 assists to lead Fairland (3-0, 3-0).

Addyson Cornell had 15 points, Lola Donahue got 11 points, and Addison Godby finished with 10 points, 9 assists and 4 blocked shots for Fairland.

Russell scored 10 points, Taliaferro hit a 3-pointer as she scored 7 and Donahue had 6 points as Fairland raced to a 30-4 first quarter lead.

The lead ballooned to 59-8 at the half as Russell scored 7 more points while Godby got 6 and Taliaferro 5.

Cornell and Taliaferro scored 4 points each in the third quarter as the lead went to 74-8.

Taliaferro and Godby had 4 points each while Cornell and Stella Whitley each hit 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for the Lady Dragons.

Lexi McCall scored 6 points for Ironton (1-2, 1-2).
