Carpenter's 25 helps Vikings knock off Flyers

WILLOW WOOD — New York has the Bronx Zoo with a variety of animals for spectators to see.

Symmes Valley has Bronx Carpenter with a variety of scoring for the fans and teammates to see in order to help them win.

Carpenter made 2-pointers, 3-pointers, and free throws and scored 25 points in Vikings 66-47 win over the Saint Joseph Flyers on Tuesday night.

Five different players scored for the Vikings in the first quarter as they went in front 18-13.

Jon Sharp knocked down a pair of trifectas and Carson Willis added 4 points to keep the Flyers close.

Bronx Carpenter hit a pair of 3-pointers and Tanner Corn scored 5 points including a 3-pointer in the second quarter and the lead was 33-25 at the break.

The Flyers managed to cut into the deficit early in the third when Beckham Waginger got the ball in transition and threw a pass to Barrett Waginger for a 3-pointer to make it 35-29 in favor of the Vikings at the 5:45 mark of the quarter.

Symmes Valley would respond with a 14-5 run over the nearly the four minutes to take control of the game for good.

During the run, Carpenter hit a pair of 3-pointers as he scored 12 of the Vikings 20 points to extend the lead to 53-36 after three quarters.

Barrett Waginger hit a triple and scored 5 points for St Joseph during the third.

Key Roberts took over in the fourth quarter as he hit a 3-pointers while scoring 8 points for the Vikings.

Four different players scored for the Flyers in the fourth quarter with Beckham Waginger netting 4.

Besides Carpenter, Roberts finished with 16 points and Tanner Corn had 8 to headline the Vikings.

The Flyers were led in scoring by Eli Whaley with 12 points and Barrett Waginger with 11.
