NORMAN, Okla. — Grant Sherfield scored a season-high 30 points to help propel the Oklahoma Sooners to a dominating 93-69 win over the 2nd-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge

The Sooners, who are set to join the Southeastern Conference in 2025, gave the Tide a dose of the energy they hope to bring to the conference.

The Oklahoma crowd taunted Alabama with chants of "S-E-C" and "overrated" during the second half and ultimately stormed the floor as the final horn went off.

Jalen Hill also scored a career-high, adding 26 points on 9-for-11 shooting and hauled in eight rebounds. He also had the task of guarding Alabama freshman Brandon Miller, who came into the game averaging 19.5 points, but finished with 11 on 4-for-14 shooting.

Tanner Groves chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds for Oklahoma (12-9), which shot 58% from the field and posted a season-high point total.

The win ended a three-game skid for a Sooners squad that had been showing some signs of progress. They had three losses to top 25 teams by four or fewer points during the month of January.

The Crimson Tide (18-3) had won nine in a row, but this loss could prove to damage their NCAA tournament seeding.

Sherfield scored 18 points during the first half to help give Oklahoma a 50-33 at halftime lead. The Sooners also shot 68% from the field in the first 20 minutes. Hill added 13 points on 5-for-5 shooting.

Hill put an exclamation point on the first half onslaught, scoring on a spin move in the closing seconds and a technical foul being issued to Miller.

Alabama cut the deficit to 11 in the second half, but Hill's slammed home a dunk on a fast break to push Oklahoma's lead to 64-46 and spark the crowd into a frenzy.

Sherfield would later bury a 3-pointer off a crossover to put the Sooners ahead 78-53.

Rylan Griffen led Alabama scorers with 15 points.
